American Deism

This an excellent installment on the topic of "American Deism". Some of the Founding Fathers of America and past Presidents were known as "deists", yet most Christians don’t know the meaning of deism. This radio program explains the definition of deism and how it’s still alive and kicking in the USA. Even "evangelically churched people" don’t get the gospel. Research shows that people sum up Christianity as: "It’s good to be good, and it’s bad to be bad."

Another observation is made by the participants who eschew the idea: "God is the all-powerful. He loves everybody. He wants us to be better people, and He’s there to help us when we need it." Christianity is being reduced to morality.

The comments by and about a researcher regarding conservative, Christian teenagers are astonishing. Here’s the installment . Select "American Deism."

(The online audio installment references the book, SOUL SEARCHING , by Christian
Smith.)
