Demon Hunter

 

This band enjoys widespread acceptance and popularity as a “Christian band.” They are heavily endorsed by pastors and youth leaders across this land. They play the “Christian” music festival circuit as well as mainstream. Their CD’s are sold in Christian bookstores.

 

Jesus said you will know them by their fruit. Demon Hunter is a very hardcore band, and tragically, very influential among young CCM followers. Our youth think they are following Christ, but are following the Prince of Darkness.

Every one of Demon Hunter’s album covers sports a picture of the Goat Head- the official trademark of the Church of Satan, the scapegoat. It’s a Satanist’s way of mocking Jesus as the "Lamb" who died for our sins.

 

If I type in the following logical url to find Demon Hunter’s website: http://www.demonhunter.com, I will find one of the leading portals for the Occult. Black magic, clairvoyance, psychics, witches, mind control, esp, etc. Do you think a few kids might stumble across that site before finding out that Demon Hunter’s site ends in .net.? Please look at the following lyrics. How does this qualify as “Christian? How does this glorify Christ? How will this lead anyone closer to a Holy God? This is darkness not light.

4. My Throat Is An Open Grave

 

Notice in the above Demon Hunter admits: “MY throat is an open grave.”

 

What does God say?

 

Demon Hunter urges us in their song FOLLOW THE WOLVES: “Shed rejection –Learn to follow the wolves.”

 

The Word of God warns us against the wolves, it does not instruct us to learn to follow the wolves.

Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

 

 

 

Act 20:31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

Not everyone who tosses out a claim to Christ or a scripture is a born again believer in whom the Holy Spirit dwells. The Lord warn us that many workers of iniquity will come in His name and call Him Lord, Lord. Too many today are like the buyer for the Calvary Chapel Bookstore who try to justify their love for darkness by saying, “Well, these guys really love the Lord. They have a scripture in mind behind every song.” Are you saying it’s okay to imitate Satan as long as I have a scripture in mind?

 

Is quoting scripture the test the Bible gives for discerning if one is a true follower of Christ?

Recall, Satan is well skilled at using scripture. He used scripture to deceive Eve and tempt her to disobey God in the garden. He used scripture to tempt Jesus in the wilderness.

Whether one has a scripture in mind as he participates alongside, promotes and imitates darkness is not proof that he loves Jesus. In fact, it proves just the opposite- that he is in disobedience to the clear commands of Scripture. “DO not imitate what is evil!”

 

Jesus says, “If you love me, you will obey me.”

Rom 12:9 Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

 

 

…3 Jn :11 Do not imitate what is evil. DO NOT imitate what is evil. DO NOT. You cannot get much clearer than this! We are to imitate Christ- not the servants of Satan!

Do you still cling to your deception that you can adopt the logo of the Church of Satan, or imitate darkness, as long as you have a scripture in mind behind your obscure lyrics?

 

Not only are we approving those who practice things God hates, (Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them), we’re going a step further. We are presenting evil as good and good as evil. We’re putting forth darkness as light, and calling evil good. But God says “Woe to you.”

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

 

John 8:12 “He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.”

 

The Bible tells us to examine the fruit, to test the spirits. The Holy Spirit will not imitate or resemble darkness in any way. Do you ever wonder that the majority in the CCM field are an exact replica of the world, the flesh and the devil?

“For this purpose the son of God was manifest—that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

Beware! Jesus warns us that deception will characterize the last days. We are warned that Satan and his servants will disguise themselves as angels of light. Crazy thing is, Satan is not even bothering to dress himself in light for today’s church. Some gullibly believe that Jesus now is dressing as satan and screaming guttural indecipherable lyrics in order to bring people to the light. Such deception! It is impossible to use darkness to bring people to the light. God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all. No true servant of God would choose to identify with and promote darkness, let alone cover themselves with satanic logos and tattoes.

 

The evidence is undeniable: Satan is converting the church to himself! In the beginning God separated the light from the darkness. He made a clear distinction between the two. He has repeatedly told us to walk in the Light, and “if we say we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice truth.” 1 Jn 1:6. Those who continue to walk in darkness are deceived and are liars.

 

While the church has been asleep, the enemy has sown the field! Jesus warns that many deceivers have gone forth.

 

While the bulk of the professing church is deceived and on the broad road that leads to destruction, loving the world and the things thereof, lets you and I stand apart, be separate, touch no unclean thing. Let’s quit participating with and promoting darkness. We’re called to teach our children God’s Word and His ways- not entertain them with the things of darkness!

 

Let’s be willing to examine the thing in our hand and ask if it is an idol. Let us be willing to make our choices according to what is pleasing and honoring to the Lord. Let us be willing to deny ourselves and to lay down those things that are an abomination to Him.

Let us love God with all our hearts, minds and souls. Let us feed on God’s Word (HIS lyrics to us) rather than feeding on obscure words of darkness from bands that imitate and promote darkness. Let us come into the light and walk in the Light as He is in the Light. Those who look to the Lord are radiant. Their faces and persons reflect His glory. Their hearts overflow with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Their lives are characterized by peace that passes understanding, a peace that the world cannot know.

1John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.

 

Christ came …Act 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

I beseech you with all urgency, if you are promoting this band and others of its kind, to heed the warning of Mat 18:6 But whoso shall offend (entrap, lead astray, trip up, stumble, entice to sin or apostasy) one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
