What does Lighting the Way Worldwide do?
Lighting the Way Worldwide is a unique ministry of outreach with a non-bothersome approach to sharing the biblically sound Gospel of Jesus Christ, based on apologetics, with people internationally from every walk of life. We have a table outreach format—a very simple approach to missions that God has spread all over the world. We rely on God to bring people over to our tables in every location where we offer free Bibles, literature, testimonies and sermons on CD to explain why we believe in Jesus as Savior and trust in the Bible as God’s inspired Word to mankind. We have such table outreaches on city streets, at university and college campuses, prisons and national parks. This ministry of evangelism offers individuals from all classes, races and nationalities an opportunity to ask questions where no one is turned away and biblical answers are based on logic and reason.
We have recently expanded to do an evangelistic outreach called the “Character Counts Club” to both underprivileged children and single mothers who live in the crime-filled projects of East Nashville, sharing with them how to know Jesus as their Savior and God as their Father when most of these kids do not even know their fathers or have any relationship with them. Working with Walmart, Target, Publix and Cracker Barrel, we also provide needs for them such as new, winter coats, Thanksgiving meals and making sure each child has a gift to open on Christmas. We also give prizes for Scripture memorization and incentives for good behavior. The goal is not just to teach the kids how to have a relationship with Jesus as their Savior but to also teach them how to overcome their environment of drugs, alcohol and crime and be all they can be by teaching them the importance of good character and how to sincerely live a Christian life. Did you know?
As Christians, we are all called to “do the work of an evangelist” (2 Tim. 4:5) and fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20 ). Since we were saved to live for Jesus and tell others about Him, we’ll never know the deep joy of serving the Lord in evangelism if we are too busy doing other things, other things much less fulfilling. There is no deeper joy for a Christian than to serve others in the name of the Lord. Come join us with a table outreach in your city!
