We have officially begun a new outreach location in partnership with Joe and his team in Whittier, CA, who are also setting up on Saturdays in Seal Beach, CA (as our other outreach team sets up on Sunday afternoons after church). After really getting to know Joe and realizing he loves sound doctrine, as well as meeting his beautiful wife, it is with excitement that I announce we are now working together to reach one person at a time with the saving gospel of Jesus in Whittier, CA, with yet another outreach on Saturdays in Seal Beach, CA, Of course, everyone is also invited to Joe’s church or a good, local church in the area, as we always work with the local churches.
This team gives out free waters and small bags of chips to anyone who stops. In addition, they are now making available the tracts, booklets, Bibles and books we shipped them–with materials now specifically for Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Christians, New Agers…and booklets by John Blanchard for atheists/agnostics with titles like “Can We Be Good Without God?’ They already have a beautiful canopy and signs, but they are adding a new sign, soon to come, with “A Free Gift for You” simply written on it, which is what we have in all of our outreach locations.
This team has a lot of zeal. The leader, Joe, texted me and said that on his birthday he just had to go set up the outreach table this month to tell others about the God who gave him life and has blessed him with one more year. This reminds me of the zeal team members of our other Seal Beach outreach have, as well as the teams in Atlanta…and NYC…as it is true! True life is in celebration of Jesus.
In Whittier, the mission field is mainly to Hispanics and English speaking people–from tourists to locals. There is more of an international scope when they set up in Seal Beach. They stay very busy. I asked, “When you leave each time, your heart is filled with joy, right?” He said, “Oh, without a doubt, and it is a deep joy like no other!”
