LTW began feeding the homeless at Venice Beach every Saturday when this ministry began in 2002. There is a reason the five mile radius of Venice Beach and Santa Monica, CA, is considered the “homeless capitol of the world.” Homeless teenagers drift there to discover a new life, prey to drugs and the spiritual smorgasbord of Venice. There is nothing more pleasurable for a Christian than to be used in such a teenager’s life to offer hope through Jesus and give him or her a free Bible. At the end of their broken dreams, God is there to meet them on their lonely road and offer new life through this ministry to the homeless.
Every other Saturday you will find Dan and the team in front of the City Hall in Santa Monica, CA, and in the middle of the Rose Street parking lot at Venice Beach, CA, feeding the homeless fresh sandwiches and food donated from Trader Joes, Whole Foods and Bristol Farms. Before the homeless people eat the meal, they stand in line to hear a short explanation from Dan on what it means to know Jesus and how to make Him Savior of their lives. Free devotionals and Bibles are offered along with the food. To work with Dan and the team, please email Dan Hubbard at hubbardbuilding@gmail.com.
“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy and eat. without money and without cost. Why do you spend money for what is not bread and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live.” Isaiah 53:1-3 LTW also wants to thank God for Hector Escobedo who began “Church of the Open Air” in Santa Monica.
LTW was proud to partner with Hector before he became too physically ill to continue leading the ministry. God bless Hector and his wife, Cecilia, as they tirelessly gave to the homeless people of Santa Monica for years. Every Sunday in Pacific Palisades Park they offered not just physical food but God’s pure love through Jesus for every homeless soul.
