Dear Lord, we seek You with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength, You have promised, “that if we lack wisdom, we may ask of God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him, But, when he asks he must believe and not doubt because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind,” (James 1:5-6) Lord, we come to You as Paul did and pray for “You the glorious Father , to give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know You better .” (Ephesians 1:17) We ask that if there is anything in us that would cause our earnest prayer not to be heard, please reveal it. “Search me, O, God and know my heart. Test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting,” (Psalm 139: 23-24) Above all else we are desperately seeking your will and counsel.
Lord, we know you desire Your children to be of one accord. “Now I plead with you brethren, by the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. “ (1Corinthians 1:10) “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1). Now, may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like indeed toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15:5-6)
Our God is not a God of division. Therefore, we need to prayerfully and carefully research any issue that seeks to separate and destroy the Christian body.
The first premise that must be set forth and agreed upon is that Harry Potter is a wizard. The definition is a person who practices magic, magician or sorcerer; Syn. 1. Enchanter, necromancer, diviner. Further, we can also agree that Satan gives wizards their abilities. This would conclude that Satan and his practices author the Harry Potter book series. We need to seek Gods revealed word concerning these issues.
“Therefore this is what the sovereign Lord says: I am against your magic charms with which you ensnare people like birds and I will tear them from your arms; I will set free the people that you ensnare like birds. I will tear off your veils and save my people from your hands, and they will no longer fall prey to your power. Then you will know that I am Lord. Because you disheartened the righteous with your lies, when I had brought them no grief, and because you encouraged the wicked not to turn from their evil ways and so save their lives, therefore you will no longer see false visions or practice divination. (Ezekiel 13:20-23) “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murders, the sexually immoral those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all the liars- their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. (Revelation 21:8)
“Blessed are those who wash their robes that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral. The murders, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehoods.” (Revelation 22:14-15) “You are to be holy to Me because I, the Lord, am Holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be My own. A man or a woman who is a medium or spiritualist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.” (Leviticus 20:26-27) When You enter the land the Lord your God is giving to you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his sons or daughters to the fire, who practices divination, or sorcery, interprets omens or engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or a spiritist, or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out these nations before you. You must be blameless before the Lord your God.” (Deuteronomy 18:9-13)
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passion, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope- the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness, and to purify for himself, a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.” (Titus 2:11-14)
We must be aware that Satan is operating in the spiritual realm. He could care less if we invite him in our front door or allow him to worm his way in through the back. The bottom line is, if we let ourselves participate in clearly forbidden subject matter we are allowing our adversary a foothold in our lives as well as our children’s.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:
“Wake up, O sleeper,
Rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.” (Ephesians 5:8-14)
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood. But against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand, Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:10-17)
We as the body of Christ need to know and understand whose authority we are under. “Then Jesus came to them and said ‘All authority on heaven and on earth has been given to me.” (Matthew 28:18) “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe, that power is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.” (Ephesians 1: 18-21)
I implore the people in places of authority in our Christian community to please sound the wake up call to everyone who uses you as their advisor and measuring stick. This is a very serious issue with a lot of consequences.
