True Patriotism! (Quoting John Newton)

Dear friend,

Allow me to say, that it excites both my wonder and concern, that a Christian minister such as yourself, should think it worth his while to attempt political reforms. When I look around upon the present state of the nation, such an attempt appears to me, to be no less vain and foolish, than it would be to paint the cabin—while the ship is sinking! Or to decorate the parlor—while the house is on fire!

When our Lord Jesus was upon earth, He refused to get involved in disputes or politics, "Friend, who appointed Me a judge or arbitrator over you?" Luke 12:14. "My kingdom is not of this world! If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight!" John 18:36. God’s children belong to a kingdom which is not of this world; they are strangers and pilgrims upon earth, and a part of their Scriptural character is, that they are the "quiet in the land." Psalm 35:19.

Est Hard to be Humble in the Landmark Forum

The Landmark Forum was derived from Werner Erhard’s est movement, which was quite the rage during the fringe, hippie era of the 70s. Though John Denver wrote a song in praise of Erhard, according to the teachings of est, Denver was responsible for his own death, "creating" the plane crash. Such ludicrous teachings are not without a spiritual paradigm.

The Landmark Forum wishes to distance itself from the duplicitous Erhard, who was accused of deriving many of his teachings from Scientology. When I asked a "coach" at the Landmark Forum (in 2009) why they were not publicizing their "est" roots, I was told that, as the culture changed, the "technology" had to change.

I responded, "Well, how could it have ever been ‘truth’, if the truth could change so easily with the culture? And, furthermore, how can I trust anything taught here at the Landmark Forum if this ‘truth’ is going to also change with the culture?" The "assistant" had no answer. The following are quotes from Erhard.

How can any teachings be held sacrosanct today in Landmark Forum, when they were in fact derived from the character of a man like Erhard? The Landmark Forum is the only system of thought left today of the "technology" of est. The worldview of Erhard was sold, literally, to Erhard’s brother to be packaged as The Landmark Forum. No matter how palatable these teachings are made, the source of est is exemplary in this putative paradigm to "integrity". A closer look at the source can only unmask this "technology’ as spurious. Satan has been telling people from the very beginning that they are gods. Erhard really had nothing new to teach after all..

Unmasking the Moonies

…Did you know that Moon has outspent anyone molding and promoting today’s conservative movement in America? After years of mainstreaming by conservatives, Liberals send him well wishes and…Conservatives have worked with him to manipulate our political system (though most conservatives are unaware of this). He has been the number one financier of the Right in America over the last 25 years, and no one has outspent him in this regard. Fawell and Tim LaHaye took money from him and worked with him. He spent 2-3 billion on the Washington Times (not the Washington Post) alone. The Bushes are big supporters of his "mission." Google George Sr. or Neil Bush with Sun Myung Moon. (That is not Moon’s original name, btw. Sun Myung Moon means something like "shining light"; Moon’s original name meant "Shining Dragon.") If you read wiki on him be careful, there are or were at least two Moon followers who worked a lot to edit the pages about him. One day a page on him is well done, and the next day it is twisted…

A Closer Look at Warren and Stardom

Rick Warren sends E-mails to all of his “flock” and associates urging them to email the president to sign on to U2 frontman Bono’s "One Campaign", forgive billions in African debt, and send billions in aid to Africa without the Gospel.

"Debt forgiveness rewards the corruption and inefficiency of governments who have mishandled loaned funds," writes the editorial board of the Kairos Journal in a letter sent June 6 to Mr.Warren and (annihilationist heretic) Mr. Stott, along with others. "In forgiving the debt of poor nations, we’re not forgiving the debts of those nation’s poor; we’re merely enabling bureaucratic perfidy and incompetence." 6/21/05: Whose Jubilee? – World Magazine

When appearing on the Oprah show Sept 28, 2005 Warren plugged his book but didn’t say a word to Oprah about her destructive teachings.

Warren now over rules God himself and decides that homosexual behavior is not as bad as incest or being a child molester. Melissa Etheridge’s statement below confirms his view.

“I told my manager to reach out to Pastor Warren and say ‘In the spirit of unity I would like to talk to him.’ They gave him my phone number. On the day of the conference I received a call from Pastor Rick, and before I could say anything, he told me what a fan he was. He had most of my albums from the very first one. What? This didn’t sound like a gay hater, much less a preacher. He explained in very thoughtful words that as a Christian he believed in equal rights for everyone. He believed every loving relationship should have equal protection. He struggled with proposition 8 because he didn’t want to see marriage redefined as anything other than between a man and a woman. He said he regretted his choice of words in his video message to his congregation about proposition 8 when he mentioned pedophiles and those who commit incest. He said that in no way, is that how he thought about gays. He invited me to his church; I invited him to my home to meet my wife and kids. He told me of his wife’s struggle with breast cancer just a year before mine.” (Jan 9th, The Huffington Post p.1)

Mr. Warren launched his Global P.E.A.C.E plan coaxing millions of dollars from Christians by telling them that the P stood for ‘Planting Churches’; then he changed it to ‘Participation’, and finally he changed it to ‘Promoting Reconciliation’.

He started the launch of his Global Peace plan by singing the hit song by Jimi  Hendrix – “Purple Haze” – a song about a man taking LSD.

A Closer Look at Rick Warren

The Heresy of Rick Warren

This is written for people who truly believe and trust in the reality that Jesus of Nazareth is the only begotten Son of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who created all things. Please be warned there is not a single instance in the Gospels or in the rest of the New Testament where false teaching is treated mildly. The harshest words in the New Testament are reserved not for simply “religious leaders” as many modern pastors frequently state but more specifically to false teachers and hypocrites.  Often, it is these same “pastors” who are leading people to another “Jesus” – a different “Jesus” – a carnal unholy rock and roll “Jesus” who cannot save. We must label what they are: Destroyers. Is Rick Warren a completely wicked agent of the devil, or is he a goodhearted believer who is simply deceived himself?  Only God can know the heart.  Jesus said, “By their fruit you shall know them.” Regardless of his motivations, Warren is steering the American Evangelical ship onto the Rocks of a carnal unbiblical Social Gospel.

Warren’s Background and Secular Accomplishments

In addition to his position as founder and senior pastor of Saddleback Church, now one of the largest churches in the United States, Warren is also a public figure. He has been called "America’s most influential spiritual leader" and "America’s Pastor.”  He was named one of America’s Top 25 Leaders in the October 31, 2005 issue of U.S. News and World Report and selected by TIME magazine as one of 15 World Leaders Who Mattered Most in 2004 and one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World (2005). This bio taken from Christian booksellers Biblio website explains more of his background.

As an author, Warren is best known for:

* The Purpose Driven Life, which has sold over 25 million copies, making it the bestselling hardback in American history according to Publisher’s Weekly.

His six books have been translated into over 50 languages.

Rick and Kay Warren have donated 90% of their income through three foundations: 1. Acts of Mercy, which serves those infected and affected by AIDS  2. Equipping the Church, which trains church leaders in developing countries  3.The Global PEACE Fund, which fights poverty, disease, and illiteracy.

Warren’s humanitarian efforts have focused on addressing what he calls the five Global Goliaths:

* Spiritual Emptiness
* Egocentric Leadership
* Extreme Poverty
* Pandemic Diseases
* Illiteracy and lack of education

Warren claims that these problems are so large that every attempt by the public and private sector has failed and that the only organization big enough to take on these problems is the network of Christian churches around the world.

On August 22, 2005, Time magazine reported that Warren has been asked by Rwandan President Paul Kagame to help his country become a "Purpose-Driven” nation. To implement this, Warren has enlisted over 2,000 Saddleback church members to go to Rwanda in small groups to initiate a national strategy and the cooperation of 600 Rwandan churches. Business leaders and leaders of parliament in Rwanda are also involved.

Criticisms by other Christians:

Many Christian authors and teachers have expressed concerns regarding Rick Warren’s teachings and writings. While acknowledging some valuable content in his books, these authors and teachers complain that Warren tends to use sloppy exegesis, inaccurate paraphrases of the Bible, ecumenical teachings and a watered-down presentation of the Christian gospel. Many have also complained about pragmatism in his books, alleging that he endorses church practices based on their outcome, rather than whether they are doctrinally sound.

Warren has also been criticized for affiliation with Bill Hybels and his "seeker-sensitive" or "seeker-friendly" approach to church growth. This "seeker-friendly" movement has been disparaged for being more interested with, and catering to, people’s (often self-centered) "wants" rather than their real "need" (the latter representing traditional Biblical preaching). Critics also complain about the quality and content of the teachings espoused within this movement.

Warren is inclusive beyond his Southern Baptist roots, and welcomes pastors and leaders from all denominations to his training programs. Warren claims to stick to the "essentials" of the faith and focus on "loving people into the Kingdom of God” in an attractive way without compromising the essential tenets of his faith. Many critics, however, contend that Warren does compromise on various doctrinal truths in his teachings and that he espouses ecumenical teachings.

A Different Jesus

Rick Warren has made millions of dollars from selling millions of people a false view of God the Father, Jesus his Son and the Holy Spirit:  A rock and roll Jesus who comes with his candy coated cross and is OK with those who worship false gods and practice false religions.

How is Warren’s Jesus different than the Biblical, actual, factual Jesus of Nazareth? Warren only tells you half of the story. He speaks of God’s love but nearly avoids mentioning God’s coming judgment altogether.  His professed Lord, Jesus the Christ, spoke of Hell more than anyone in the Bible. Warren’s church’s statement of faith is loosely orthodox.  He doesn’t deny any major tenets of the Christian faith on paper, rather he does it by his traitorous and blasphemous actions in real life. This makes him all the more dangerous!  Jesus instructed us to judge with a righteous judgment not merely for appearance sake.

John 7:24 reads: “Judge not according to the appearance, but Judge righteous judgment.” That means to assess or evaluate based on the relevant evidence.  I speak harshly of “false teachers” as did my Lord and his Apostles since they set the example we as Christians must follow.

The Great Tribulation…

In the Old Testament, the prophets did not go into detail concerning this terrible time, because it was not necessary in their particular day; but in the New Testament, God gave John on the Isle of Patmos minute details about this time of great tribulation. Rev. 6:1 through 19:21 gives a picture of the terrible judgment and horrible refining process in the melting pot, through which the nation Israel (primarily) and the peoples of the earth (generally) will pass. The Great Tribulation has nothing to do with the Church; the Church will not enter nor go through any part of that terrible time. Any preacher or teacher who suggests that the bride of Christ will be subjected to any part of the reign of the Antichrist is definitely wrongly dividing the Word of Truth. God pity the preacher who will accuse Jesus of allowing Antichrist to reign over His bride; and the Church IS the bride of Christ!

A Sincere Apology to the Gay Community

When speaking about homosexuality, many Christians go to extremes – neither of which is good. They either ignore this sin altogether (hoping not to offend), or they elevate it as the worst sin possible often calling homosexuals offensive, pejorative names, saying mean things like, "You deserve what you got !" or "AIDS is God’s way of judging you." This is wrong, mean-spirited, and hateful, and on behalf of all Christendom, I want to apologize.

Thirteen Heresies in The Shack

1. God the Father was crucified with Jesus.

Because God’s eyes are pure and cannot look upon sin, the Bible says that God would not look upon His own beloved Son as He hung on the Cross, carrying our sins (Habakkuk 1:13; Matthew 27:45).

2. God is limited by His love and cannot practice justice.

The Bible declares that God’s love and His justice are two sides of the same coin — equally a part of the personality and the character of God (Isaiah 61:8; Hosea 2:19).

Demon Hunter

…My daughter attended a conference last November, hosted on the campus of Calvary Chapel Murrieta, CA. She was alarmed to find the bookstore was selling and promoting the band Demon Hunter. She wrote her concerns to the buyer and the reply was, these are “Dedicated Christians…they truly love the Lord…that they have a scripture in mind behind every song.” I then checked the Calvary Chapel Online Distribution Service and found they too were selling the xChristianHits2007 CD which features a Demon Hunter song that promotes this band as Christian. Thankfully, after I sent additional information and photos, they have removed this CD from their offerings, however they still continue to sell many extremely dark bands that are imitators of evil, despite the information I have sent.
