Israel, US, and “The Seven Noahide Laws”

What are the Noahide Laws and why does every believer in Jesus the Messiah need to know about them? On March 20,1991, President H.W. Bush Sr. signed into law a Congressional Joint Resolution entitled, "A Joint Resolution To Designate March 26, 1991, As Education Day, USA". This joint resolution became Public Law 102-14. Public Law 102-14 states emphatically that all civilization from the beginning has been based upon a set of laws entitled "The Seven Noahide Laws". The encyclopedia Americana, page 737, states that the Noahide laws are “a Jewish Talmudic designation for seven biblical laws given to Adam and to Noah before the revelation to Moses on Mt. Sinai and consequently, binding upon all mankind.” (The Babylonian Talmud is a mad-made tradition and rules established by Jewish mystics and was followed closely by the Chief Priests, scribes and Pharisees and modern day religious Jews and Rabbis. The writings are anti-New Testament and are demeaning to Jesus the Messiah and Gentiles, especially Christians). According to the research by Ted Pike, The Talmud said Jesus was, along with Balaam and Titus, one of the three greatest enemies of Judaism (Gittin 56b-57a). The New Testament confirms that the Pharisees considered Christ demon-possessed (John 8:48), a charlatan empowered by the devil (Matt. 12:24), a deceiver (Matt. 27:6), a blasphemer (Jn. 10:36), and having an unclean spirit (Mk. 3:30). The Talmud says He was a bastard, son of adulterous Mary (Sanhedrin 106b). He was hung on the eve of Passover because He was a sorcerer and apostate (Sanh. 43a). He was a fool who fell down and worshipped a brick (Sanh. 67a). He was executed by stoning, burning, decapitation, and strangling (Sanh. x.2:90a). Jews are encouraged to lecture against Christ (Sanh. 106b). Christ is in hell, wallowing in boiling hot excrement (Git. 56b-57a).

“God kinda got a hold of my heart, man.” (New Lingo With New Pastors)

Below is an excerpt from a recent blog post by Mark Driscoll. (His venue, The Resurgence, is gaining popularity.) Of course, he is dressed in jeans for the "new Christians" who are tired of the old ways, as well as the old fashions (i.e., dressing up to give honor to God when going to church). Another pastor in the video interview is quoted to say (non)aptly, “God kind of got a hold of my heart, man.” Everything has to be hip. The points and comments in red below are mine. Mark Driscoll’s writing is copied in italics, and I have bolded sentences for emphasis.

The first point is that he was "honored" to be amongst those featured in Christianity Today! That is pitiful. The second point is that he has learned a lot from Rick Warren, evidently, and hopes that at some point his church members will come to trust him (Mark Driscoll) without question like Rick’s congregation trusts him. Isn’t that more indicative of a cult than the bereans we are called to be according to the Bible?

Leaving the Bible Out of New “Evangelicalism”

This is what is known as the "social gospel" or "missional movement." It is spearheaded by "Leadership Network", based on the ideas of the late Peter Drucker (Rick Warren’s mentor) introducing Madison Avenue techniques to pastors for marketing Christianity. As posted from Bob Buford’s Tue., Aug. 19, 2008 Musings for Friends, "It’s all about stories and connecting." Be sure to note that the recommended list of resources below does not include the Bible! What we are seeing here is an anti-biblical emergence of a new "social gospel" which leaves the Bible out of "evangelicalism." Leaders in this movement include Rick Warren and Tim Keller.  With the right marketing strategies "Christianity" is sure to sweep the world, and it will be the end of world hunger. Everyone will get new shoes! Water systems will be built in Third World Countries. The world will live as One in the "new Christianity." It is as if Jesus exists for this purpose! (wrong).

In Good Conscience (Physical and Demoralizing Dangers of Antidepressants)

As a Christian who believes that all people are responsible for their actions (like the Bible teaches) I applaud Toxic Psychiatry written by Peter Breggin, a psychiatrist who does not claim to be a Christian from what I have read thus far. This summer I have known of two Christians who have been told they should be on antidepressants. The topic was of interest to me, given what the Bible teaches about the conscience…plus, I care about my friends, so I ordered the book from Amazon. The Bible does not call people “psychopaths,” “sociopaths”, “antisocials ‘incapable’ of love”, “detached”; by definition, these psychological types of people in the Bible are called “liars”, “deceivers”, “wolves in sheep’s clothing”, “double minded”, and “neither hot nor cold.” However, the solution is the same for all in the Bible: repentance (turning from sin and carnal reasoning to God). God promises in the Bible to make all people new if they will abandon their old way of living and thinking and turn to Jesus with new found empathy for others and remorse over sin. A "slave to sin" will be "set free" the Bible promises. But how about those who are "bi-polar" or "manic-depressive"? Can God make them "new" without medicine?

Yes, but maybe not with quite the same "high."

Witnessing at the Cloisters

I walked in another gray room, and I noticed a female security guard off to the side. Reminded that we are supposed to speak “according to the need of the moment,” (Ephesians 4:29) and not just speak inappropriately I prayed silently, “Lord, please give me something to say to this woman.” I asked her nicely, “Are you Catholic?” She answered, “Yes.” I replied with a smile, “Well, I guess you feel at home here.” We both smiled. I continued, “I am a Christian, and I don’t feel close to Jesus at all in this place! Meaning, none of this draws me to love Him or follow Him.” She said, “Well, it is all very dark. We have heard voices in this place and seen weird sort of shadowy figures.”

The Bilderberg Group (and American Deism)

In 1954, the most powerful men in the world met for the first time under the auspices of the Dutch royal crown and the Rockefeller family at the luxurious Hotel Bilderberg in the small Dutch town of Oosterbeck. For an entire weekend, the debated the future of the world. When it was over, they decided to meet once every year to exchange ideas and analyze international affairs. They named themselves the Bilderberg Group. Since then, they have gathered yearly in a luxurious hotel somewhere in the world to try to decide the future of humanity. Among the select members of this club are Bill Clinton, Paul Wolfowitz, Henry Kissinger, David Rockefeller, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Tony Blair and many other heads of government, businessmen, politicians, bankers and journalists from all over the world," writes journalist Daniel Estulin in the opening paragraph of the introduction to his must-read book, The True Story of the Bilderberg Group.

“Faith Walking”: No Carefree Romp Through the Roses

It’s when we are struggling with weaknesses and infirmities, that we become spiritually strong:

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Cor. 12:9-10)

Our Difficult Life in Jesus: Highly Underrated in the Church Today

The lost world would laugh at me, but I am encouraged as I write about this. I went to the post office today to get a big stack of mail and opened some newsletter from a ministry, which usually does not send me letters. I was going to just toss what looked to be a form letter it in the trash but opened it first to take a glance. My eyes fell on this:

“…life in faith has always been difficult for saints.”

Quoting Brennan Manning

Brennan Manning advocates calling God "mother" as an endorser of "Christian feminism." I used to enjoy reading his book, Abba’s Child, until I found out that he proliferates the the confusing oxymoron of "evangelical feminism" and the heresy of calling God "mother". I researched further to find that Brennan is a leader in the monastic movement of contemplative prayer, making him a forerunner in pseudo-Catholic and pop-culture Christianity.
